Going Down, But Living It Up
By the time you reach Stockland’s Bayswood development, you’ve already been driving for three hours since leaving Sydney. However, the Vincentia area in Jervis Bay makes even the cost of petrol easy to forget. The beaches are unbelievable, and the bush is magnificent. Even better, there are already strategies to help keep this magnificence around – for example, each homesite will incorporate a 5 metre tree retention zone to the front and rear of the block.
Considering that there are many blocks of land in Sydney that would struggle to offer residents 5 metres of backyard, Bayswood has real appeal to anyone who wants space and loves Australia’s natural landscapes. Stockland plans to start releasing the first blocks (out of over 600) in early 2008.
For those who like this part of NSW, but are after a more rural atmosphere, and don’t mind a five minute drive to the beach, Inglewood will be worth a look. Miltonbrook’s release of less than 30 homesites in Tomerang has one obvious advantage – the block size. Ranging between 1100 and almost 3500 square metres, The Inglewood release in Tomerong is a perfect example of one of the big advantages of building out of Sydney – you don’t have to be confined to a compact homesite.
Further inland, Allam is selling blocks in Terralla Grove, South Nowra. Nearby, Miltonbrook has serviced lots ready to go in Peppermint Grove.
Longbeach Estate near Batemans Bay is for those who don’t want to be away from the water, but are willing to deal with the occasional three hour drive to Sydney. Some remaining blocks abut Cullendulla Creek, and all are close to area’s famous beaches. The estate is being marketed to both investors who want to build holiday homes, and to those beginning the longest holiday of all – retirement.
