In and Around Wollongong
So you liked building sandcastles as a kid, right? If you want to reignite your early passion for beach front property, then The Point at Sandon Point, Bulli might be for you.
This Stockland development is nearing completion with the final beach front lots being auctioned including a very rare half acre sized lot overlooking the beach.
Situated on McCauleys Beach, this architect designed community is a stone’s throw from the beach and in many cases blessed with spectacular ocean and Illawarra Escarpment views.
Further inland, West Dapto is going to be huge. It’s just south of Wollongong, on the edge of Lake Illawarra, plus, famously, has its own greyhound racing track. According to the Illawarra Regional Strategy, the area should produce 500 new lots for building each year over the next 25 years, and has the capacity for over 19,000 dwellings. An early indicator of the area’s potential popularity is evidenced by Stockland’s small Highcroft release, which has almost sold out on the promise of stunning views and nearby bushland. There’s much, much more to come in West Dapto, but its worth keeping in mind that in major release areas, blocks of land usually become smaller and more expensive as time marches on.
If you don’t want to wait, and are willing to move a little further west into Southern Highlands territory, you might want to try Clover Hill, Horsley where just under 40 blocks have been released.
Moving back towards the coast, Haywards Bay, Wollongong is a bit further South, but right on Lake Illawarra. In fact, the Winten property group is marketing it as a way to “discover nature’s playground.” Haywards Bay is also the home of All New HousingWorld, which will eventually consist of 30 display homes from 11 builders including Huxley, AV Jennings and Beechwood and they all build on the South Coast. A selection of homes are already open to inspect.
